Conversion A Life Long Process

Conversion   A Lifelong Process

There is always room for growth in our faith

That’s why we have to surround ourselves with a good support system.

We have to pick that support system wisely because that might be our life support system for something I would call our living faith.

When we’re first learning about our faith and getting out of RCIA our faith is beating strong.  While attending those classes our faith was being fed to give us that life line.  We have to keep the life line strong ourselves once we have finished the classes.

So what I would suggest to you is to always be looking for ways to feed your living faith, because if you don’t feed your living faith your living faith will slowly bleed out like a living person.  In the center of your living faith is the church in which you are now all a piece.  The church is something you don’t always know how to believe in.  That’s when you would fall back on your support system.

That’s why your support system has to be strong; your support system is kind of like your life support.  If one part of your life system fails it can be bad.  It could be the whole failure of your life.  We need to remain one body and one spirit in Christ.   Which I’m pretty sure most you know what it’s like to be searching for a faith or living with a faith that feels incomplete.  Whichever you were doing before you became full members of the church.

You may fall back into your past or have doubts about where you are going, but my heart says you will always come back to our Catholic community.  This in my heart is the true and only faith as you’ve seen in the classes.  I hope you have learned the church is one body and one spirit in Christ.  One true living body.  Which you will receive every Sunday from now until the end of your life hopefully, unless something drastically goes wrong which I hope never does.

If you have any doubts or want to seek out the answers to any questions regarding your new faith please feel free to contact any of the team including me.  We will help you find the answers to your questions.

The other part I want to stress to you which I already did in one respect is don’t let your life line go down to zero, because I once unfortunately did so myself.  I am still trying to recover from it.  I think that was the biggest mistake of my life, not seeking out help when I really needed it.  So please seek help.

One of the other ways you can keep your faith strong is learning to read  daily readings  if at all possible.  Or at least learn to read the Sunday reading before going to Mass.  I am now going to give you a way in which you may read those from my wordpress blog @  You will always be in my prayers as I hope I am in yours.

Family Life

 Family Life

I hope I have been a good example within this parish in relation to family and God.  Now it’s time for me to give you some leadership advice on how to keep your family involved within the church.  I know this is pretty much common sense.  But, sometimes we just need a few reminders.

What is your challenge as responsible Catholic parents?  It is to lead your children in their faith towards God and to lead them in a good way to worship him, to be with him without being able to see him.  I understand that can be the hardest part for every Catholic.  That is the reason we fall back on our church family.  This is the way it’s supposed to work but doesn’t usually happen this way.  If we don’t know how to do something we ask for help.  If we can’t do something by ourselves we ask for help.   I encourage you to go to our church family for any help you may need.  The church family is who you can go to for spiritual help.  If you are struggling there is a strong possibility some other people are struggling with the same thing and that’s where we as a Catholic church don’t know people are struggling unless somebody in the parish speaks up and tells us.  We also have to support them in their struggle, which is part of being a family as well as a church family also.  At least someone in the parish will try to help you or give you some ideas on how to deal with your struggles.  This is part of the reason I’m doing outlines of these pamphlets.   Every new Catholic seems to have problems with understanding that just because God is not there physically that you can talk to him.  Even I have trouble with this one.

What I encourage you to do is to keep your faith strong within your family first before you go out and try to spread your faith throughout the community besides within your parish family.  One of the ways I suggest you do this is nightly prayers with the whole family if you can.  Prayers at meal times are important.  Really what I suggest you do is to try to make your whole day a prayer just like you were walking beside God as you go through the day.  When you are praying to God one of the things I suggest you do that most people wouldn’t think of is I suggest that you talk to him as if you were having a conversation with  him not any kind of formal type of prayer.  Formal type of prayer is good but talking to somebody is better.  Don’t be afraid to talk to God.   After all he is a human being, even though we can’t see him he is always by our side.  He knows what we’re going to do and what we have been through and what awaits us.  He knows how many hairs we have on our head for goodness sakes.  So don’t you think we should treat him with some respect?

Another thing I think you should do is always treat Easter as an anniversary for your faith and relationship with God.  Not just for yourselves but for Jesus Christ himself.  It shows a good deal of respect towards him.  As it is your rebirth in the Catholic church as it his rebirth on this Earth as we know it.

Matthew 5:25 “Agre with thine adversary quickly”

From our Lord’s standpoint it does not matter wheter I am defrauded or not;what does matter is that I do not defraud.  Am I insisting on my rights, or am I paying what I owe from Jesus Christ’s standpoint?

God is determined to have His child as pure and clean and white as driven snow, and as long as there is disobedience in any point of Hs teaching,He will prevent none of the working of His spirit.

Matthew 5:30 If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

It is better to enter into life maimed and lovely in God’s sight than to be lovely in man’s sight and lame in God’s.

Phillipians 3″12 “If that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended”

We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has apprehended us.  What you have to preach is determined by God, not by your own natural inclinations.

Jeremiah 1:8 “I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord”

Wherever God sends us he will gaurd our lives.  Never look for justice in this world, but never cease to give it.  Jesus says “go steadity on with what I have told you to do and I will gaurd your life”.

Saints are far from mediocre, they do not strive to do just enough.  Saints strive to do things that are heroic such as honesty.  We need to look towards their actions to become better witnesses of the faith.    We need to strive to be more like them if we’re going to get this Earth straightened around.  God made this Earth so we need to take care of it.
